Description
The Velvet's 1st lp, rare version featuring Eric Emerson on the back cover before he was covered in a sticker, then later airbrushed out entirely. The vinyl looks unplayed at first look, I thought it may have been a reissue placed in an original sleeve!!! The matrix is A-side): V-5008-S-1 MG-558-REV

Very little play on this lp, under strong light there are a few very faint paper sleeve marks around the outer edges but that's about it. There is light crackle on the first songs of each side, but may just need a cleaning? I played some of the others songs and they're were loud and punchy, beautiful mono sound (better sounding than my stereo reissue!!). The labels retain their full color, and little to no spindle wear. Overall VG+\VG++ condition.
The cover is more like a VG. The banana sticker is gone, and there is faint writing on the front and back covers (see photos). There is some gouges on the front cover to the right of the banana, and a green color on the outer edge ( see detail photos). Some yellowing around the edges, but the covers retain most of their gloss and the edges are in excellent shape, little wear and no splits. The inside gatefold looks excellent. Includes original Verve inner sleeve!!
A rare classic that almost never comes up for sale, I hate to see it go.
