RARE MONO, VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS ALL ROUND IMPRESSIVE CONDITION, ALL COMPONENTS IN THIS COMPLETE VINYL LP SET ARE 100% ORIGINAL
Arguably one of most INFLUENTIAL and ICONIC Albums of the 20th Century, this is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK Apple **FIRST ISSUE MONO** TWO Vinyl LP Set for The Beatles WHITE Album, entitled ‘The BEATLES’.
This Set is 100% COMPLETE, with TWO ORIGINAL UK FIRST ISSUE MONO VINYL LPs, Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle, an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, Two ORIGINAL MATT BLACK INNER BAGS, The set is housed within its ORIGINAL, First Issue, Fully Laminated TOP OPENING, NUMBERED 0012077 GATEFOLD Sleeve.
LP Description:
The TWO First Issue MONO Vinyl LPs are on the traditional DARK GREEN Apple label, with ‘Sold in UK Subject to resale. ‘All four record labels are **WITHOUT** the E.M.I. Recording label reference’ and with ‘Mfd. In UK’ label text to all four sides of the record labels.
All four record labels are in Excellent to Excellent Plus condition, undamaged labels, clear unfaded printed text, showing some light centre spindle lines to both labels, with no hand writing.
Disc 1, Side 1 matrix XEX 709-1 & Side 2: XEX 710-1.
Disc 1, Side 1 stampers: 5 OM & Side 2 stampers are: 7 OL.
Disc 2, Side 3 matrix: XEX 711-1 & Side 4: XEX 712-1.
Disc 2, Side 3 stampers: 2 T & Side 4 stampers: 4 PR.
The TWO 12” Vinyl LPs are in very nice Excellent to Excellent Plus condition, bright undamaged vinyl surfaces, showing a few light surface hairlines, there are no deep scratches or scuffs to any of the vinyl surfaces .
Both LPs come in original black die-cut inner bags which are in Very Good condition, with just creasing and tiny tears, one bag has a tear to the centre that has been repaired from the inside with sellotape.
….And are housed in an ORIGINAL, FULLY LAMINATED Garrod and Lofthouse GATEFOLD Sleeve. This FIRST ISSUE Sleeve is TOP OPENING and NUMBERED 0012077, printed to the lower portion of the front of the sleeve. ‘The BEATLES’ is embossed a little way up above the number. The sleeve opens out to reveal black and white portraits of each of The Beatles together with the track listing, the gatefold sleeve is in Excellent Minus condition, the sleeve is firm and clean with no major damage, the front of the sleeve shows mild age toning to the top, and a couple of laminate scratches at the bottom, the printed number has light age toning, but is clear, there are also light corner bumps to all four corners.
The inside gatefold part of the sleeve is in Excellent condition, showing just light age toning.
The reverse part of the sleeve is in very clean Excellent condition, with just mild age toning to the top. The spine edge shows light age toning and rubbing.
There are Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle, the photographs are in Excellent Plus condition, clean undamaged photographs, with NO pin holes or tearing.
And an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, in Excellent Plus condition, a very clean undamaged poster, with NO pin holes or tearing.
Play Quality:
Having carefully played both LPs, all FOUR sides play very well throughout the tracks, with just mild background crackle, there are NO skips, a very nice clear Mono sound quality.
Not surprisingly, Beatles UK White album in Mono format are EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER, and this is respectable example with a lowish number. They are becoming INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO FIND in ORIGINAL, and COMPLETE condition.
