The Sodality "Beyond Unknown Pleaures" LP privately issued by Aquilifer Sodality (0AE01045) in Italy, 1987. Edition limited to 240 copies in silk-screened sleeve. ****** Rec:m / Cov:m ****** In 1987, the legendary Aquilifer Sodality label released a totally unique LP by one of the best Power Electronics projects of the 80s (certainly at the same level of Whitehouse, Mauthausen Orchestra and a few others) The Sodality. The album, titled ‘'Beyond Unknown Pleasures'', developed through unprecedented psychosexual disorders, hysterical screaming, razor-like  electronics , filthy noise and provocative lyrics, torturing the listener to the most extreme, tolerable limit. This album is often considered to be the best power electronics album of all time. One of the single most vicious and uncomfortable Power Electronics albums to ever be released. Everything about it is simply flawless. The lyrics, the vocals, the electronics, everything. But mostly the vocals. The electronics stays low (mostly rumbling and hissing, sometimes there's a high-pitched whine or two) so that the vocals can really take control. The hysterical screamed vocals of Andrea Cernotto and the piercing noise frequencies are sure to torture the listener to death and lead you beyond unknown pain and pleasure. There's no sloppy noise garbage or pretentious intellectual crap, just a pure sexually perverted attitude, with a bit of irony. The Sodality was a very mysterious italian power electronics act. This is the original 1987 edition of only album that they released. Supposedly there is some back catalog material, but it seems highly unlikely that shall ever be released. Most Power Electronics and noise fans are delighted with having their ears twisted by "Beyond Unknown Pleasures". This album really gives you a good idea why the name of the genre is "power" electronics; the lyrics are the ultimate portrayal of victimization and absolute control. This is an incredibly powerful masterpiece!
