on the do it now records label, catalog # DIN 302, stereo pressing, from 1972.  4 side long 'tracks'.   really, really great drug education album put out by the do it now foundation.....they made a whole series of these i've heard, this is the only one i've ever seen.    those of you who are familiar with my listings know i typically don't make it a point to go on & on about a record, but i feel like i must with this one......it deserves some explanation.   

this very, VERY RARE double album is an audio masterpiece of anti-drug public service, never preachy or condescending....it relies on an endless audio collage of pot and drug users’ stoned conversations, hippies rapping with each other (rarely making sense), interspersed with tobacco ads, prescription drug ads, and some of those original 30 and 60 second PSAs from their radio campaign & some KILLER acid psychedelic songs, presented in their entirety, all dealing in one way or another with the topic at hand (drugs).

side one features the byrds 'artificial energy', along with frank zappa’s public service announcement, a true classic.....over a bed of sped-up chipmunk voices, frank deadpans 'do not use speed.  here’s why....it’s gonna mess up your heart, mess up your liver, your kidneys, rot out your mind.  in general, this drug will make you just like your mother and father'........scary stuff indeed.

this is only the beginning.......spread over four sides this record truly takes the listener on a psychedelic experience, all the while telling us not to use the drugs that seemingly helped make this record possible!    it's a great listen that only get's better with each listen.......i really shouldn't be letting this one go at any price, but i've got some big plans for the money raised.

two pocket gatefold cover is VG, with some rub/ring wear, dents in upper/lower left corners, one pocket has an 8" split, while the other has a 3" split, some splitting in lower left corner as well.....and some other seam/corner wear as well.   back cover & inside gatefold are blank.   vinyl is as follows:   record one is VG+, with a few light paper scuffs.   record two is NM-, in beautiful condition.    vinyl has been cleaned on a VPI.

while i strive to keep my ebay sales fun and hassle free, i do have a couple rules, due to some unfortunate activity from my previous rounds of auctions:    both ITALY & FRANCE customers must pay REGISTERED AIRMAIL shipping, regardless of the final value of the item(s)......no EXCEPTIONS!   shipping prices are quoted below.   also, i do not accept bids from those of you with zero feedback.  sorry, no exceptions.  thanks in advance for your understanding.  as always, i will not end auctions early, please don't even bother to ask.

i cannot be held responsible for any damages that occur during shipping.   i pack my items in dedicated record mailers, with cardboard inserts on BOTH sides of record, with the record outside of cover to prevent seam splits.   i've been shipping records in this fashion for over ten years now.....i know what i'm doing.   please inquire about insurance, as that is the only way to protect yourself from damage caused by the post office.

quick note to future buyers:   if you have a question, please ask it BEFORE you buy the record, don't assume details without confirming with me, it will save us both the headaches.   also, for those of you overseas.......tracking for an item shipped overseas is NOT a cheap option, it starts at about $40.00 for an lp.   if you are willing to pay that, great.   if not, don't assume that there is an affordable way for me to do that, or that it's an option with regular first class mail....because it isn't.   if you need to see the package through from my house to your house, the cost starts at $40.00 to certain destinations, and goes up from there.   a very secure way of shipping, but not trackable, is registered mail.   that being said.......

i do not like to use media rate, or first class domestic either....both take far too long, and items have sometimes gone missing as well.   if you absolutely have to save $3.00 on shipping, then that is what you'll get, media rate for $4.00, including delivery confirmation....to me, as a seller (and a buyer, for that matter) it takes too long, and i end up with too many questions ( 'where is my record?'   'when did you ship it?'  etc, etc).   i strongly urge you to use priority......you can avoid a heavy box of books being placed on your fragile record, and you'll get it so much faster.    i prefer you use priority shipping within the US, and the cost is $8.00, including delivery confirmation.   first class airmail shipping to CANADA is $8.00.   first class airmail shipping to MOST OF EUROPE, JAPAN & AUSTRALIA is $15.00.   registered airmail shipping is $25.00 worldwide, and is required on all shipments to both ITALY and FRANCE, and after package value reaches $100.00 or more.   I DO NOT SHIP to SOUTH AMERICA, MEXICO, or ISRAEL at this time, NO EXCEPTIONS.   i will gladly combine items to save on shipping, i try not to make ANY money on shipping costs, i typically lose money honestly, especially now that ebay takes a cut of it......thanks, ebay.   payment is expected within 7 days of auction end.   thanks for looking, and good luck.
