Description

An original 1st press on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1W/4W. Worth insisting on an early copy of this famous live LP as pressing quality deteriorated somewhat on later copies. Early copies are pressed heavier and the labels are identifiable by the wider body text employed - which is most clearly visible on the album title. The early copies also came housed in a fully laminated cover [back and front] - which significantly improves preservation on this title. Also included, here, is the original blue and white Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with just one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with super clarity. A top level player - don't short change yourself with a later pressing. Go early..go heavy pressed. This truly is a cracking live album which reveals just how sharp the Stones were at the height of their powers. Expect nothing more than a couple of isolated crackles in a couple of spots per side. Clean as you could possibly hope for. The only slight deviation is toward the end of 'Midnight Rambler' where I picked out a couple of minor ticks. It's toward the end where they're really shredding the guitars so it's barely even noticeable. Even in  'Love In Vain'... I can only pick out the occasional static crackle here and there....it plays MUCH better than you usually tend to find. Overall an absolute top-level copy....you'll really struggle to equal it, let alone better it.
Cover (Ex) A really sweet looking cover which has been cared for, but has  also been protected by that full lamination. Lovely clean and shiny front which appears to have avoided ageing..just a couple of creases over on the right side. The rear looks really sweet and has totally avoided the ageing process - unusual. There's a laminate crease in the top left sector, but that's all that's noticeable. Very little edge wear at all and relatively unworn openings. The spine is 100% intact - perfect! Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A beautiful looking original example.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing, but no splits or markings.
