Description
For sale is a rare legendary 1969 Robert Ludwig pressing of this classic LP...Atlantic SD 8236, 1841 Broadway, New York label. "MO" appears in the dead wax of both sides. "SS" (Sterling Sound) appears with the "RL" on both sides.
Matrix Numbers at bottom center of labels: Side 1 shows ST-A-691671 MO Side 2 shows ST-A-691672 MO The "MO“ indicates a West Coast pressing from the Monarch plant, renounced for their quality.
So not only are you getting the scorching Robert Ludwig cut, you’re also getting that godly West Coast pressing.
Now for the bad news…
Cover: Well, if it wasn’t for the weird peeling along the spine on the cover, this could pass for a VG+, as the rest of the sleeve is clean, overall, with just the expected shelf/rub wear, and just the FAAAAAINTEST hint of a split along the opening. Overall, I’d say this could get away with a VG, but check the pics.
As for the vinyl, I’d call it a strong VG overall, with only some light, non-feelable scratches holding her back from a VG+. All in, there’s not enough significant wear to draw back from the LOUD, ripping tuneage.
Overall, a fine play copy to tide you over ‘til that 4 figure NM/NM keeper comes your way.
