Title:  Fredy Brock - International

Original German pressing from 1972 on Munich based private label bsb,Stereo 1464.The cover is kind of a “gimmick-cover”:there is a postcard of F.Brock (wich he has autographed with a golden-metallic pen!) on the back-cover,it’s surrounded by perforations so that you can easily take it out and put it into a frame on your bedside table.But perhaps you’ll prefer to hang the laminated front-cover on the wall in your living-room to look everyday at the incredible sick photomotage of the band standing in a limestone-cave between stalactites & stalagmites?!

Fredy Brock was trumpet-player for the Max Greger Orchestra,he also plays on the band’s jazz-records:the 1963 “European Jazz Sounds”on Brunswick and the 1965 “Maximum”-LP on Polydor,wich I also offer in this auction.I have seen photos of that sessions showing F.Brock sitting and playing next to Benny Bailey!On this LP he leads a 10-piece line-up(“10 soloist out of 5 countries” as the liner notes say)ft. a small horn/brass-section,organ,electric-bass & -guitar,drums & percussion.12 tracks include a few cover-versions like Jorge Ben’s “Zazueira” or Ch.Trenet’s“Autumn Leaves”,but most of the tracks are self-penned and contain some of the weirdest euro-funk,library-style and euro-latin ever!Seven of the LP’s tracks are of interest,on the record they are placed one behind the other(I’ve coloured them green in the track-list),they are in the style I just mentioned,only “Hombre” is a Morricone-like lonely-trumpet-in-the-desert-ballad with a hypnotic tympani-groove and  a great fuzz-guitar ending.The album is a pretty hard find and has been in demand since some years,a few tracks have been compiled and you might listen to them in the net(e.g.”German Funk Fieber 2”,”The In-Kraut 1”).

Condition:the record shows several hair- and papersleeve-lines plus a few light marks,visual vg to vg-.Most of these marks are non-feelable and superficial and the record plays much better than it looks:only between some of the tracks there are just a few soft singular tics in the background,real low.All tracks play in mint- to ex+,and specially all  the 7 tracks of interest play in mint-!

There’s a tiny name written on one of the labels.

The cover has intact seams/spine with slightest rub,very minimal cornerwear,the front is fine,the back has some slight discolourations in some of the white parts,overall ex+ so far,but there’s the “gimmick” left:the perforations of the postcard are intact on top and for 2/3 on the right side,the rest is already open,the card is very slightly bended at the bottom.I have only seen 2 other copies of this record in my life,both had the postcard missing.

Grading:this used record has been cleaned on a prof. cleaning machine.After that I playgraded it on a Rega Planar 9 with a Rega Super Elys moving magnet system and I also visually graded the record under a strong light.I give you a detailed description of both gradings.Only an unplayed record is mint,the highest grading for a used record is mint-! My basic gradings are:mint-ex-vg.As a free service,cleaned records are stored in a brandnew deluxe innersleeve and the cover will be placed in a brandnew PVC protection-sleeve!
