Description
On offer here is a very rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by The Beatles called 'Please Please Me' and is a MEGA RARE 1963 Black & Gold Australian 1st MONO pressing on the Black & Gold Parlophone label!!!! THIS IS A VERY RARE LP IN EVERY RESPECT!!!! THESE RARELY EVER TURN UP FOR SALE!!!! BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP EVEN RARER IT THAT IT WAS ONE OF 1ST 500 (OR SO) COPIES EVER PRESSED!!!! IN AUSTRALIA THIS LP WASNT RELEASED UNTIL AROUND OCTOBER 1963 - AND THE 1ST FEW PRESSED HAD UK COVERS!!!! I HAVE DONE QUITE A LOT OF RESEARCH ON THIS LP - AS I WAS A LITTLE CONFUSED WHEN I FOUND IT - AS IT HAD A UK COVER AND AUSTRALIAN DISC!!!! APPARENTLY AUSTRALIAN PARLOPHONE DIDNT ORDER COVERS DOMESTICALLY UNTIL DECEMBER 1963 (POSSIBLY TO SEE HOW THE LP SOLD FIRST?) - AND IT IMPORTED COVERS FROM THE UK. IT HAS BEEN ESTIMATED THAT APPROXIMATELY ONLY THE FIRST 500 OR SO 1ST PRESSINGS OF THIS LP CAME WITH UK COVERS - AND THIS MAKES THIS LP MEGA RARE!!!! NOT ONLY THAT BUT THE DISC IS CLEARLY VERY VERY EARLY TOO - WITH MOTHER NUMBERS TO BOTH SIDES (IN THE RUN OFF GROOVE) - WHEREAS CERTAIN LATER PRESSINGS DONT HAVE MOTHER NUMBERS IN THE RUN OFF GROOVE. INTERESTINGLY THE MOTHER STAMPING NUMBERS AND THE MATRIXES ARE EXACTLY THE SAME IN STYLE AS UK PRESSINGS!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE VERY EARLIEST 1963 BLACK & GOLD 1ST AUSTRALIAN PRESSINGS AND IS INCREDIBLY RARE!!!! SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!! This is the ORIGINAL 1963 Australian MONO Black & Gold 1st pressing and VERY hard to find!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The matrix numbers are XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N. The mother numbers are 1 & 4!!!! The Cat. No is PMCO 1202 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Black & Gold Parlophone MONO label (see picture) and is a MONO 1st pressing!!!! This is an ORIGINAL 'earliest' 1963 1st Australian Black & Gold Pressing with the Black & Gold Parlophone label, a UK 'poly lined' Emitex inner and a UK E.J.Day sleeve!!!! All the tracks are Pure quality Beatles at their best!!!! Any fan of The Beatles, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!
The record labels are in GREAT condition (see pictures) with NO writing, and only some spindle marks around the centre hole. The vinyl isnt perfect visually - though it does play BRILLIANTLY!!!! Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and it plays BRILLIANTLY!!!! Visually it isnt perfect with a few hairline type marks, a few VERY light hairlines, a few small marks, a few light surface marks and a few scuffs - though it is quite shiny looking!!!! However this is EXACTLY why it is important NEVER to dismiss a record that doesnt look perfect as it plays FANTASTICALLY!!!! The needle virtually ignores every mark - and plays with only a VERY few light clicks/pops (only a very VERY few), NO distortion, NO nasty loud pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, and virtually NO crackle - with only some VERY slight low level background noise in the run on groove, gaps etc - though it is ALWAYS very low level - and is certainly NOT noticeable in the music!!!! It is VERY important not to dismiss this record - as it is EXTREMELY rare and plays VERY well!!!! The record must grade visually Good if not better - though the playing grade is more like Very Good+ if not better - and plays brilliantly!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL Emitex inner - which is exactly how I found it. The UK 'E.J.Day' FLIPBACK Cover is in brilliant condition!!!! The cover front is simply SUPERB and it has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only slight corner wear, only a few light creases (cover is still flat looking) and NO writing!!!! The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in GREAT condition with NO writing, NO grubbyness, 1 small rub just below the top flipback, and barely ANY yellowing AT ALL!!!! The top and spinal flipbacks are PERFECT and there is just some roughening/creasing to the bottom flipback - though it is still tight to the cover and there is NO 'flaking' or 'fluffing'. The cover must grade Very Good (maybe +) if not better!!!! THIS IS A MEGA RARE AUSTRALIAN BLACK AND GOLD MONO 1ST PRESSING AND IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND WITH A UK COVER!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE AUSTRALIAN 1ST BLACK AND GOLD MONO PRESSINGS OF THIS LP - SO DONT MISS OUT!!!!
HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!! It really is a GREAT looking LP and it is truly rare to find any copies of this RARE LP!!!!
