Description:
Original Australian pressing of The Beatles – Please Please Me on the rare black & gold Parlophone label. Early pressings like this are highly collectible and increasingly difficult to find.
Matrix / Dead Wax:
Side A: XEX 421-1N 1
Side B: XEX 422-1N 4
Vinyl Condition (VG)
The record shows clean surfaces with good gloss and typical signs of use consistent with a VG grading. Side 1 plays very well and would easily grade VG+, with strong sound quality. Side 2 has a few scratches that produce an occasional pop when the needle passes through those spots, which is why the record is graded VG rather than VG+. Overall, it still plays well and presents nicely.
Cover Condition (G+):
The sleeve shows noticeable wear. There is a tear that has been repaired, and some peeling on the front cover where Ringo’s face shows areas of wear. Still structurally intact and displays well for its age.

On Mar-11-26 at 12:45:29 PDT, seller added the following information:This copy is from the second variant of the first Australian pressing series, often referred to as the “local manufacture” update.
The very first variant has a slightly different rim text credit on the black and gold Parlophone label.
Although technically a second run of the first pressing, many collectors and sellers still refer to black and gold label copies like this as first Australian pressings. since they belong to the original pressing series and are significantly scarcer than the later yellow and black Parlophone reissues.
In other words, this record comes from the second run within the original Australian pressing, not from the later reissue series.
