"GEMINUS" Music composed and directed by BRUNO NICOLAI
PLEASE NOTE: Item is located and shipped from Italy.
Original GEMELLI label MONO pressing, cat#. GG 10-003, Italy.
Probably released in 1970 (this is due to SIAE logo on labels), this is Bruno Nicolai at the top of the game with this dope original 1969 Soundtrack for the Rai TV series "GEMINUS", starring Walter Chiari, Alida Chelli, Ira Furstemberg. Surely tough to find and barely seen, the music here sums up all the best Nicolai modes of the time: some of those Morricone-like moments of mellow groove, mixed with starker striking sounds, balanced by some especially catchy Jazz elements that really make the whole thing sparkle. Vibes, organ, and guitar all figure in nicely at certain points, and the soundtrack's awash in very cool tunes. Huge Italian TV OST, with outstanding Fuzzy jams / Free Jazz and Avant-garde Score arrangements / elegant Baroque moods and Lounge vibes / dark Eastern sounds alternated by incredible Scat vocals solos by Edda Dell'Orso and chorus sessions by A.Alessandroni's I Cantori Moderni. Very Rare and not be missed!

Side A first track is a killing Fuzz gem: "GIANO" is a tribal Psych Out jam with Fuzz acid guitar broken by tense Harpsichord notes, so nice! - "TEOREMA" also one of the main themes from the Soundtrack gives cinematic Jazzy vibes with central Harpsichord motif. "LARVE", "IL SOGNATORE" and "ECLISSE DI LUNA" are all sophisticated Experimental/Avant-garde goodies, all deeply instrumental and providing mysterious atmospheres. The absolute gem here and my favorite track from this album "IL CIELO CADE" is some of the best cinematic moments ever: a Soul-Jazz base with bewitching chorus by I Cantori Moderni and superb orchestra accompaniment, also featured in the original Score of PHILOSOPHY IN THE BOUDOIR aka EUGENIE DE SADE '70. "NOTTI ROMANE" is another great obscure Avant-garde jam with frightful atmospheres, chorus and dark Sitar notes. "TEOREMA (con voce)" is the same TEOREMA theme with Scat vocals addiction. "LE VOCI" provides an unexpected elegant Bossa Jazz with da-ba-da vocals. "FUOCHI FATUI" another Psych Out dark and Esoteric jam. The two's "TEMA BAROCCO" feature Pop-Baroque sounds with addiction of vocals on the first version. INSANE RECORD!!
