Description
The Beatles - With The Beatles
I am pleased to offer for sale a complete and original STEREO UK 1st pressing of The Beatles 2nd studio album, With the Beatles.
As with all early albums, this is a record that was produced in much higher volumes in mono than stereo. Therefore, finding an early stereo With The Beatles that hasn't been played to death is extremely difficult. Here is a great chance to add a copy to your collection that sounds fantastic - take a listen for yourself below! An added bonus to the album is the rare label variant and EMI advertising leaflet.
Album Details:
Serial number: PCS 3045
Matrix number: YEX 110 - 2 / YEX 110 - 2
Stamper codes: 2 RG / 1 M
Tax Codes: KT
Vinyl Weight: 170g
The matrix numbers identify this record as a true UK Stereo 1st pressing. The mother and stamper codes suggest together with the presence of the EMI advertising leaflet suggest that the album was a pre-release pre-order and consequently one of the first few thousand produced.
The vinyl has the extremely rare 1st variant black and yellow Parlophone labels with two misprints. These are: 'Jobete' mis-credit for 'Money' and the song title: 'You Really Got A Hold on Me' misprinted as: 'You Really Gotta Hold on Me'.
This copy comes with the original front side laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flip-back sleeve with large 'STEREO' text to the front side and 'You Really Gotta Hold on Me' misprint to the rear.
Also included is an extremely rare EMI advertising leaflet that was only sent with early mail order items.
The album is complete with the original polythene lined die-cut Emitex 'protect your records' inner sleeve.

Vinyl: EXCELLENT
Labels: EXCELLENT +
The labels are bright, clean and without writing. Only a handful of light spindle marks can be seen on either side.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Immaculate 'factory-fresh' deep-gloss playing surfaces which only show a couple of subtle 'inner sleeve paper scuffs' in bright daylight. Underneath a halogen desk lamp a few barely visible wispy hairlines can be seen alongside a sparkling rainbow shine.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
Please use the eBay internet site to enjoy the audio clips. The eBay app does not facilitate playback.
Side 1:
Side 2:
The heavy-weight vinyl sounds superb. The record has clearly only ever been played on good quality equipment. The lead-ins are quiet and there is minimal static in between tracks. The record plays with the distinction one might expect from such an early pressing. The bass is punchy, the vocals are crisp and clear and the instrumentation is well defined. It's great.
Sleeve: EXCELLENT
The sleeve looks fantastic. The front laminate retains the original lustre and the cover art maintains vibrant, deep colours. The rear is very clean with only subtle signs of handling discolouration. All four corners are crisp and sharp. The top, bottom and opening edges along with the spine are without any wear. Truly a final upgrade.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. It is very clean, without any staining and with minimal creasing. It is slightly discoloured.
Additional Details:
Before the audio test was performed the vinyl was cleaned first by an Okki Nokki vacuum cleaner (using L'art du Son cleaning solution) and then an Audio Desk ultrasonic cleaner.
After cleaning, the vinyl is housed inside a brand new mobile fidelity anti-static inner sleeve.
The vinyl will be packaged outside of the sleeve, both of which are stored inside an archival quality polypropylene outer sleeve.
The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer.
