Description

WITH THE BEATLES :- Original 1963 UK Parlophone PMC 1206 Mono LP with Garrod & Lofthouse flipover sleeve......complete with correct polylined Emitex Liner Sleeve.

A very nice example of a 'Decca' pressing Beatles album ............. at the beginning of 'Beatlemania' EMI's pressing fascilities were at full stretch , so to cope with demand for Beatles discs , EMI used to 'contract out' to other pressing plants to fulfill orders ............. Please Please Me and With The Beatles were two such albums allocated a pressing run at Decca .......... These pressings are detectable by two visible features :- (1) The label area has a circular recessed impression 15mm in from the label edge , as with Decca LP issues .............(2) There are no 'stamper' letters at the '3-0-clock' position situated on the run out groove - e.g. 'GA' 'GL' and so on ..........

These pressings are very hard to find now , and are great Beatle collectors items .................

Track Listing:-

1. It Won't Be Long
2. All I've Got To Do
3. All My Loving
4. Don't Bother Me
5. Little Child
6. Till There Was You
7. Please Mister Postman
8. Roll Over Beethoven
9. Hold Me Tight
10. You Really Gotta Hold On Me
11. I Wanna Be Your Man
12. Devil In Her Heart
13. Not A Second Time
14. Money

Notes:- The Beatles: John Lennon (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, harmonica, Hammond organ, tambourine); George Harrison (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars); Paul McCartney (vocals, piano, electric bass, claves); Ringo Starr (vocals, drums, bongos, maracas). Additional personnel: George Martin (piano). Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, London, England from July to October 1963. Includes liner notes by Tony Barrow. This is the one that turned the world upside-down. Released as its creators evolved from pop group to phenomenon, this album both affirmed promise and proclaimed genius. A slew of memorable Lennon/McCartney compositions embraced pop at its most multi-faceted, robust, melancholic, excited, and wistful. Their grasp of melody and harmony startled, yet for every unusual chord sequence employed, the Beatles' vigor and sense of purpose remained true. Influences and mentors were acknowledged by a handful of cover versions, but the strength of the album lies in the group's own creations. With The Beatles freed artists to record their own material, and the course of pop was irrevocably changed.

I add new listings most days..........please take a look

All items carefully graded audio-visually, and are played on a high quality system.

I usually begin items at a low price to generate interest and bidding.....................

Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I realize the requirements in the gradings of sleeves and discs , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised in listings ........I grade the discs (using The UK Record Collector Grading System) beneath a light , to be sure of condition..................

I do not believe it is necessary to use the eBay buzzwords such as 'Stunning!! Rare!! Awsome!!, padded out with grossly long winded descriptions , many of the 'experts' who use this method of selling also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and incorrect to actual facts , and would be laughable , but for the fact that it is misleading........ I take time and care to grade items correctly and only list quality records, with concise and accurate grading descriptions......................

I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest!) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists live too (I saw The Beatles twice........and Segovia!)

I began selling professionally in 1976 , and have a wide knowledge of the items I sell , having bought copies of my own at the time of issue , always interested in the label and disc variations. If you have any queries , I will do my best to help.

Please check my feedback ratings , you will see that a large amount (over 2000) of my feedbacks are from repeat customers (many thanks).........and in the event of genuine complaints I will remedy the situation as soon as possible......
