Description

An original 1st press of TTPD on the UK Decca label from 1969. Matrix 1W/2W . Stampers 1H/1I - placing this copy within the 1st few thousand copies ever pressed. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original hexagonal cover with internal flipbacks exposed [per 1st issue]. Also included is the original blue and white hexagonal inner sleeve. So 100% genuine and 100% complete. We will ship with the LP housed in a 1969 blue and white inner sleeve for maximum protection.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Remember - these hits LPs would usually have been played to death. But this example seems to have been taken care of and has not been abused. It's a clean player right from the outset. All I could detect was a few crackles occasionally just audible during 'We Love You' and 'Ruby Tuesday'. Whether it be the full-on numbers or the lighter key moments - this example delivers a solid and assured rendition. "Rainbow" plays clean too with a few crackles just noticeable when the piano plays [but very minor]. Crank it right up to max - and it will take you straight back to the sixties.
Cover (Ex-) A lovely looking cover - nice and clean front without the usual curl or creasing.  Lovely shiny finish to the front - without light fade or bubbling. The image quality is stunning thanks to the complete absence of laminate bubbling. The rear exhibits one crease and a touch of ageing [nothing overtly stand-out]. The interior is loving very fine without issue. The spine has aged a touch and exhibits just a touch of wear.  All text seems to be just about all legible. There's a touch of edge wear in places - but it's in lovely condition with a firm un-feathered opening panel. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Superb. It looks like it was printed yesterday! No splits. Just lightest circular fade patch in the centre.
