Description

Now this is a VERY rare record. Back in 1964 my wife had a boyfriend who worked for Decca Records and he gave her a demo copy of The Rolling Stones first ever LP The Rolling Stones. The label as you can see has Factory Sample and printed on one side is XARL 6271 2A LK6405 and on the other XARL 6272 2A LK6405 (on the record when it was issued the number became LK 4605).

This record I understand has different lyrics to TELL ME to the final issued version.

There were not many of these demo disks issued and so it has to be a valuable item to add to any collection.

Now whilst this record has not been played at all for the past 45 years, when my wife was first given it she took it to parties and therefore it has got signs of use, and I played it today and I have to say that it skips in one place on the first track (Route 66). I have not attempted to clean the record and that may cure the problem BUT IT MAY NOT. I would say that it merely jumps / skips one groove. Other than that it has what you would normally expect from a record that has been used at parties - the odd click here and there but nothing that bad

I think that this is possibly the rarest Rolling Stones record that you will find and I feel that it may be a long time (if ever) before another becomes available.

The sleeve and cover are the normal ones for this record.

Will ship internationally but will have to work out postage after if that's the case.

Any questions please ask
