Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. - 1972 TOP-COPY Gatefold FIRST PRESS ..|/\|...............................................|/\|..
- Wolfgang Dauner's ET CETERA
- "Knirsch"

- Germany - BASF RECORDS - 2121432-2
- German outfit "Et Cetera" was the brainchild of one Wolfgang Dauner, their drummer who had quite the critical acclaim in music circles in his selection of "the right" musicians and combining everything from Indian raga music and psychedelics to the avant garde jazz tendencies with a modern rock template, Et Cetera managed to conjure up a rather unique take on the lauded 'Krautrock' sound. Freeflowing and loose with much focus on improvisations, as noted above, the band was a melting pot of many different styles and approaches.
With the add on of legendary UK drummer Jon Hiseman; Colosseum, Tempest, Jack Bruce, etc etc - and guitar chameleon Larry Coryell for this second studio album "Knirsch," the band now seemed like a sonic experimentation to be reckoned with. Sadly this was to be the final studio release from this highly eclectic group.
Though, Et Cetera was a short-lived installment in the early days of Krautrock, yet seen from a modern perspective and in the larger scope of what the scene was all about, it seems only proper to call this outfit one of the true pioneers of the scene. - "The Really Great Escape" is Coryell's popular composition reinvigorated which really gets the blood flowing ... in that you get this nasty distorted keyboard sound throughout - as the drums pound away. The guitar and vocals come in around a minute, and how good is this ! Amazing sound two 1/2 minutes in with nothing like headbanging to some fuzzed -out keyboards; incredible track !
- "Sun" is a jazz / fusion track with keys and a pastoral setting to start. Other sounds join in at a minute as it slowly builds. The guitar 2 minutes in may remind of early Santana -- there is so much going on - great tune.
"Yan" is the almost 13 minute experimental piece. No melody to start just this freaky electronic soundscape with effects coming and going. We get keyboard melodies 2 minutes in, percussion then takes over when these strange effects come and go in the background. They get louder before 8 minutes as the percussion continues. Drugged out vocals appear after 8-10 minutes followed by a silent calm after 10 1/2 minutes. Keys and an eerie vibe follow displaying a very "Krautrock" style. - "Tuning Spread" is an 11 minute jazzy/fusion track, kicking in quickly with fuzz, drums, keys and more - overall great sound ! Love the drumming and guitar too that joining in. Keyboard comes in before switching off into grainy-fuzz 7 1/2 minutes in. The guitar work appears and extends and check out that drum work! "Yin" opens with percussion, keyboards and cool atmosphere when suddenly distortion guitar joins in and is SO good ---- intense is the word !
- This album is a must for fans of Jazzy and experimental Krautrock.
