THE BEATLES - 'THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM'
This German EXPORT pressing of their 2nd Capitol LP is from September 1964, specifically for sale to U.S. army bases in that country
It is on the white, red & gold Odeon label: ZTOX 5558
Matrix numbers: XBEX 50053-1 & XBEX 50054-1
'Manufactured in Germany' is also machine stamped into both run-outs.

Housed within a front laminated German printed cover complete with original inner-sleeve

A bright & unworn set, downgraded only due to a name written onto the side 1 label.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Immaculate deep-gloss playing surfaces which apart from a single light, non-feelable 3cm surface mark on side 1 are unmarked in strong daylight. Closer examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals little more than a small number of harmless wispy paper hairlines & a sparkling rainbow shine.
Sound Quality: VERY GOOD
This copy has received minimal careful play on good equipment and my playcheck found no major deterioration to the sound quality overall. The quality of the vinyl used on these pressings was never optimal and as a result some light crackle is audible between tracks and on the less dynamic tracks. The only other distraction were a handful of moderate clicks on 'I Call Your Name'. However, as this pressing uses the original U.S. mixes, the huge cavernous sound covers up most of the shortcomings of this vinyl of this rare disc.
Cover: VERY GOOD
A respectable example with a clean, high-gloss front panel bearing light storage wear rubbing and 3 small 'thumbnails' together with a few more minor wrinkles. There is light front opening edge wear and a small bumps to the upper left corner but all others are in good shape. The unlaminated rear panel has some age-toning but is without any significant blemishes, writing or missing paper.
There is a 3cm stress to the upper seam but the lower one is intact, as is the clearly worded spine.
Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD
Clean & uncreased with small splits seams but no damage to the central front window.
