Description

An original 1st press [Loud-Cut] of Rubber Soul on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is what looks like a reproduction Emitex inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex) In great condition and has seen relatively light use. Under close inspection the are a few light marks, and one patch of superficial scuffing - absolutely nothing heavy or troublesome that would feature in the audio at all. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. A very decent rendition by any measure. The only vague issue I would lodge against it is that 'Michelle' plays with a touch of low-level static in places. Now, do bear in mind that this is VERY common and it is pretty difficult finding any original pressing without this issue. For the remainder of the recording expect a very impressive level of playback - clean and without issue. 
Cover (Vg+) Very decent condition - certainly not perfect, but a good all rounder. Lovely shiny and clean front with just a bit of scuffing to the laminate over toward the opening. There's also slight undulation noticeable in the front [like a wave] - but I'm just mentioning it to be totally upfront..it's relatively minor in nature. The rear is better than many that surface and just exhibits a bit of ageing and the left-over tape residue at the opening. Edge wear is light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
