My listening equipment is a highly revealing Yamaha PF-800 turntable (easily equal to an LP12) with Glanz MC cartridge, pre/power amps and Castle speakers.
Played on my system this LP grades Excellent with just some very minor background noise between tracks and to occasional quiet parts such as the final track on side one (Michelle). Visually the vinyl is bright and shiny with just some hairlines and the odd very light surface mark but these are of no audio consequence. Often on Beatles LPs I get asked about deadwax mothers and stampers: on side one I can find “GR” and “2”; on side two I can only find the letter “R”. The labels feature the earliest San-Serif font with spaces between song titles and asterix (later pressings have Times New Roman font). The condition of the laminated flipback cover is superb. For accuracy, the only very tiny flaws I can see are a small indentation of the letter “A” in the LP title – see close up photo - a couple of light thumbnail creases to the laminate near the spine and an almost imperceptibly small mark to the top of the flipback which can only be seen under very close scrutiny. The unlaminated back cover looks like new. The original Emitex inner sleeve is also in excellent condition.
Superb example of this classic LP and the san-serif label font proves it to be the earliest 1st press Loud Cut available.
