Description
The Beatles - Rubber Soul Released December 1965 PMC1267.
This is the very first pressing (and an early one at that) of the brilliant Rubber Soul by the Beatles. The first Beatles album not to feature 'The Beatles' written in the album cover. Any Beatles fan will know the story of the 'Loud Cut' and will also know the scarcity of these presses.
This one has the 'Sans Serif' font on both labels and a KT tax code
Side 1 XEX 579-1 Mother Stampers Either 'OP' or 'MP'. I think more likely 'MP' (KT Tax code) Side 2 XEX 580-1 Mother Stampers 'GR'
Sleeve = Excellent+ Strong laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve. The front is shiny and clear. Very slight ringwear impression. The back is clean bright. The spine is strong and clear, and still square. The top and bottom edges of the sleeve are lovely and strong with no creases. The only thing stopping me from saying this is near mint is that there are small bumps of wear to the corners. It really is a fantastic sleeve. The emitex inner is in excellent condition.
Vinyl = Very Good+ The labels are clean with no writing, some spindle wear. This album has been played in the past, that is clear. I have only played it twice, once to grade it, and twice because its a great listen! On visual inspection the vinyl has a lovely shine. It plays through very well on my system, with a small amount of surface noise in quieter places. There are a small amount of visible hairlines but I can't hear any distortion. It's a really well looked after record.

Record Collector Gradings below
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
