THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
This great sounding UK stereo pressing of their debut album dates from late-1969 on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 3042
Both labels are the final incarnation of the yellow & black label which OMIT the 'Sold in UK...' text.
Matrices: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1
Stamper codes: 2/MG & 1/AT
Vinyl weight: 146g
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo cover.
Complete with its original pink & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT +
Both are clean & bright with a small number of light spindle trails around each centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Factory-fresh, deep-gloss playing surfaces which apart from a superficial surface mark on side 1 are unmarked in strong daylight.
Audio: EXCELLENT +
Played carefully on quality equipment only, the sound quality throughout is clean, clear & unworn. The aforementioned mark does not affect sound or play.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
A fine, clean & strong example retaining a pristine high-gloss front laminate free from any 'thumbnails' or wrinkles. There is minor shelfwear to the lower corners but little else on the front to show for its 52 years. The rear panel is clean & white with just a few small indentations towards the lower right corner. Both seams are smooth and unstressed and the spine is clean & fully worded.
Some age-toning to the paper but no splits or writing.
