THE BEATLES - 'HELP!'


This earliest possible UK 1st STEREO pressing from August 1965 is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 3071

Both labels have the 'Sold in UK...' text & 'The Gramophone Co...' rims, with the asterisk after 'I Need You'.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 2 label.

Matrices: YEX 168-1 & YEX 169-1

Stamper codes: 1/G & 1/G

Vinyl weight: 145g

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo cover.

Complete with its 'Use Emitex...' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

 

CONDITION

Labels: VERY GOOD +

Both are bright & intact but downgraded due to some age-spotting to the paper on both.

Visual: VERY GOOD +

Both playing surfaces are clean and whilst free from any significant marks or wear in strong daylight, do bear numerous wispy paper-type hairlines beneath halogen light. There are no deep or feelable marks anywhere.

Audio: EXCELLENT +

Happily, both sides play superbly with no trace of any audible faults or wear. Apart from a little regular vinyl background between tracks, there is nothing to fault on this superb sounding, earliest of pressings.

Cover: EXCELLENT

A clean and white example with light storagewear only. The striking front panel is clean & white with nothing more than two small 'thumbnails' to its high-gloss, unscratched laminate. All corners and edges are in good shape with no heavy wear to any. The rear panel is perfectly clean & bright with no marks of any kind anywhere. All flipbacks are intact & in-place and both seams and the spine are undamaged.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT

Clean & crisp with just a little wear to the top-opening edge.
