Description
An original 1st pressing of AHDN on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 2-GG/3-RT. Please note the chubby font exhibited on the labels is indicative of very 1st press, along with the inclusion of 'recording 1st published'. And do bear in mind that in summer 1964 stereo was still very much a niche format. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection all we can make out are a few light marks, and one superficial trail - nothing heavy or troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Wow, what a nice player...possibly the best stereo copy I've auditioned. Very nice clean audio from the outset even in those quiet tracks. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All I could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Quite frankly a top-level performer from every angle.
Cover (Ex-) In super condition and clearly been carefully looked after down the years. Lovely shiny front without ageing or heavy creasing, just a couple of light thumbnail creases toward the opening. The rear has escaped most of the usual ageing process - just a touch showing up against the spine edge. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover still retains great rigidity and nice firm corners. A stunner!
Inner (Vg+) One side split has been taped up. Light ageing, but otherwise aok.
