LONG TALL SHORTY on WARNER BROTHERS RECORDS from 1979. SIDE 1 : BY YOUR LOVE SIDE 2 : 1970'S BOY One of the most sought after UK punk/mod singles, this was their withdrawn debut single. This was produced by Sham 69's Jimmy Pursey but when his J.P label fell through Warner Bros. released it and inexplicably withdrew it after 1 week. It was estimated that only 200+ got out which obviously makes this highly sought after by worldwide collectors. Pursey helped the band get a UK tour with The Chords but they split up after the first night. They later reformed in 1981 and released a few more singles. 'By Your Love' is a 60's influenced number, '1970's Boy' on the flip side is an absolute punk stormer! Complete with original super rare picture sleeve. Original UK copy, WARNER BROTHERS RECORDS, K17491. Record is EX-. Sleeve has a bit of wear on the top edge, and a slight stain - call it a pretty good VG. Not too bad and hard to find another one!
