The BEATLES
*YELLOW SUBMARINE* 'Mono' 1st pressing - 1969
The last Beatles UK original 1st pressed LP to be offered in 'mono'
Matrix: Side 1: XEX 715-1 Stamper code: 3-RL Matrix: Side 2: XEX 716-1 Stamper code: 3-RD
Audio:
EX+
Difficult to find a mono pressing this good, especially the gentle, orchestral, side 2. Near perfect sound with just the odd mild dust 'pop' on side 2. There are no real issues with this lovely copy. Crystal clear sound throughout.
Visually:
EX-
Lovely, deep gloss surfaces that display some wispy handling lines/marks under reflected daylight. There is a non- feelable line across side 1 and rather bizarrely, a similar one on side 2. Both are completely harmless and have no audible effect on the tracks. Obviously, there are more wispy handling lines under a search light beam.
Labels:
EX+
Near perfect condition, with expected spindle trails, both sides.
Cover:
EX+
Fantastic example, so hard to find like this, without any corner stress lines. There are no thumb bends at the opening too. The white area on the front panel has 'yellowed' somewhat but the panel is still lovely and smooth. Spine is perfect. Back panel is still quite white with just a little age toning. The flip backs are remarkably firm and the bottom 'flip', as a true early issue, is missing the G & L information text, in error.
Inner sleeve:
EX+
A truly outstanding example of this ridiculously fragile item. The inner seams are 100% intact and completely sealed against any light penetration. The single die-cut hole shows just a few tiny disc tears.
