THE BEATLES - YELLOW SUBMARINE (MONO FIRST PRESS)

THE BEATLES

YELLOW SUBMARINE

MONO FIRST PRESS PMC 7070

XEX 715 - 1     2      GH

XEX 716 - 1      1       L

THIS IS THE MOST RARE OF ANY FIRST PRESS BEATLES MONO RELEASES AND HAS THE SOLD IN UK TEXT AT THE TOP OF THE LABELS AND THE TWO RED LINES ON THE REAR OF THE SLEEVE.THESE MONO'S WERE PRINTED IN TINY AMOUNTS AS IT WAS ONLY AVAILABLE BY PRE ORDER AS STEREO HAD ALL BUT TAKEN OVER BY 1969 AND AS SUCH IS WORTH UP TO 4 TIMES AS MUCH.

THE SLEEVE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.THE FRONT REMAINS NICE AND BRIGHT WITH A BIT OF LAMINATE CREASING AND SOME CORNER CREASES. THERE IS ALSO ONE SLIGHT CORNER BUMP TOP RIGHT.THE REAR IS IN FANTASTIC SHAPE WITH JUST SOME LIGHT AGEING SPOTS(THE CAMERA FLASH APPEARS TO HAVE MADE THEM MORE PROMINANT THAN THEY ARE TO THE NAKED EYE).THE FLIPBACKS ARE ALL SOLID WITH NO SEAM SPLITS OR DAMAGE.JUST SOME LIGHT EDGE DUSTING.THE SPINE IS STILL GREAT WITH SUPER SHARP WORDING.

THE APPLE LABELS ARE ALSO EXCELLENT WITH MINIMAL WEAR AROUND THE HOLE.

THE MARVELLOUS 1ST PRESS VINYL IS EX+ WITH JET BLACK MIRROR LIKE SURFACES WITH ONLY 1 OR 2 LIGHT MARKS SEEN UNDER BRIGHT LIGHT.NOTHING FEELABLE OR ANYTHING THAT AFFECTS PLAY.

THE PLAYBACK IS OVERALL A GREAT LISTEN WITH CRYSTAL CLEAR MONO.THERE IS THE OBVIOUS LIGHT CRACKLE IN SOME QUIETER AREAS LIKE RUN INS AND THE ODD DUST POP BUT THE CLARITY AND TONE STILL REMAINS THE SAME AS WHEN IT WAS FIRST PRESSED.A SUPERB VINYL!

THE FRAGILE ORIGINAL BLACK INNER SLEEVE IS STILL IN GREAT SHAPE WITH NO SEAM SPLITS.THERE ARE 2 SMALL TEARS NEAR THE CENTRE HOLE BUT YOU WILL DO WELL TO FIND ONE WITH NO DAMAGE AT ALL.

OVERALL ONE OF THE BEATLES MOST RARE MONO RELEASES AND IN SUPERB SHAPE.I FEEL THAT THE RECORD IS WORTH MORE THAN THE STARTING PRICE AND AM OPEN TO REASONABLE OFFERS TO END THE AUCTION EARLY.YOU WILL DO WELL TO FIND A BETTER COPY THAN THIS SO DON'T MISS OUT!

Grading:

MINT: Brand new condition, no surface marks no deterioration in sound, all paperwork should be in perfect condition

Excellent: The Record shows some signs of being played, there is very little lessening of sound quality. The packaging may have very slight signs of wear and /or creasing.

Very Good: The Record has been played a number of times, but there is no major deterioration in sound quality, despite slight surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Good; The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps some mild scratches. The cover suffers from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits and discoloration.

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise. It may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

I add a plus or minus when the item is somewhere between two grades
