* VERY FEW OF THESE WERE PRESSED - I HAVE ONLY SEEN TWO OTHER COPIES (in the past six years!) AND BOTH HAVE VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL MOTHER NUMBERS/STAMPER LETTERS INDICATING AN INCREDIBLY SMALL RUN OF JUST A FEW HUNDRED BEFORE THE ERROR WAS SPOTTED

COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL RED/WHITE 'FOOLS' CUSTOM INNER SLEEVE (with 2 flipbacks and "Made in Great Britain" and "Patents Applied For" text)
AND THE CARDBOARD CUT-OUT SHEET ("Printed in England")
Sgt. Peppers was the first "concept" album, although any link between tracks are pretty tenuous.
The record was the first not to be banded into individual tracks, with hardly any gaps between songs.
It was also the first to use the run-out groove, therefore leave the stylus on the record and it would chatter away endlessly.
The cover too, is the subject of a few "firsts",
It was the first to have the lyrics printed on the reverse.
The inner sleeve was also the first to be custom made, decorated in a design by Seemon and Marijke.
Plus the LP came with a set of Sgt. Pepper cardboard cut-outs, which include, a moustache, a picture card, some sergeant stripes, 2 badges, and a stand-up.
The album sold a quarter of a million copies in Britain in it's first week of release, and by the end of June had topped 500,000 sales. But it didn't sell it's One Millionth copy until April 1973, some 6 years later.
LABELS: EXCELLENT
Very clean, unmarked labels with no damage or colour loss - moderate spindle traces
VINYL Visual: EXCELLENT
Both surfaces retain their original deep, glossy sheen with no dulling and only a few light and superficial brush marks/hairlines - these have no audio consequence
VINYL Audio: EXCELLENT (+)
Outstanding *MONO* audio delivery with a crystal clear, deep, rich and detailed sound and my play-check at loud volume revealed little to fault - no scratches, no groove-wear or distortion and very little surface - just a touch on the run-ins otherwise, the playback is beautifully clean with only two light clicks noted on "She's Leaving Home" - lovely copy
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT (+)
The Wide Spine "Patents pending" *MONO* sleeve is in fine shape with a deep glossy sheen to both the inner and outer surfaces and the top and bottom edges are crisp and sharp with no wear to speak of. There is some rubbing to the top spine corner (please see close-up photos) but all spine text is clear and bold. Overall, a very fine example indeed
INNER SLEEVE: EXCELLENT
Apart some light handling creases the inner is also in fine shape with NO seam splits
