Up for grabs today is an impossibly rare first UK pressing of Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols. As stated the matrix numbers on this lp are V 2086 A1/B1. All the information I have been able to find points to this variation being a part of the first press, and part of the first 1000 to have been made, making it ridiculously rare. This lp sports the blank pink back cover, no barcode, 11 songs, the mistakes in the lettering on the front cover, the timed tracks, and the producer credits of Chris Thomas & Bill Price. No poster or 7 inch freebie either. This lp has the Jem import sticker on it as well, leading me to believe that it could have possibly been sent to the USA as a promotional lp. I have been able to find the different matrix variations for first pressings (A2/B2, A3/B3) and some other ones as well, but the only one matching my matrix sold in 2011 for $405.00. A little searching in some Sex Pistols forums shows talk of people hearing of the A1/B1 variation or even seeing it, but no one on the forum seemed to own it. A truly rare piece of Punk Rock history. The reason I have the auction started so high is because I have already had an offer at the starting price. Being that this is so rare, I am going to grade it more conservatively at VG+. The lp has some slight scuffs and hairlines that do not affect play and a very slight scratch on Side 1 that DOES NOT affect play. The cover has some minor creases and a little bit of corner wear. Also included is the original plain white sleeve saying "Made in Great Britain". There is also a very faint (and I stress faint) "JM" written on the Side 2 label. I've also added a few more pictures.
