This Butcher Cover is a first time offering of a nicely peeled genuine 1966 LA #6 jacket at the lowest opening bid price that you will find for a peel that presents this well. This is the perfect example to frame in a UV safe/acid free archival frame. 
Finding a peeled West Coast Butcher Cover that doesn't look like it's ready for the trash can is not an easy task. See last photo to see this jacket during the tedious peeling process. If you always wanted a real Butcher Cover but didn't want to spend up to 2k or more, then this might be for you ! Most LA designated 2nd state trunk covers were adhered by the Modern Album Company during the paste over process with a difficult to remove adhesive. For every nice one that exists, there are probably a thousand bad to mediocre peels. Most of the severely damaged 3rd state covers you see on the internet for sale are the improperly peeled LA Jackets.  While this jacket has some wear and seam issues, this won't cost you over  or more and if one were to get this professionally framed, it would look just about as nice as a far more expensive peel costing hundreds more. Look around and compare. Perhaps not for the super picky collector, but that special someone who wants a real Butcher Cover for a reachable price that still presents well.
While the market is currently getting flooded with overhyped peels with large obvious scars/damage, the good news for buyers is that this is one of the more affordable/obtainable peels out there for under $1200 that still present nicely that won't make you skip your mortgage  Such is the case here and this jacket offers quite a decent bang for the buck ! These Los Angeles covers with the notorious factory super glue have been destroyed by the thousands and continue to be destroyed through amateur peeling attempts. Due to the difficulty of the peel, these LA Butcher Covers are much harder to come by in displayable condition. This one is better than what is usually seen out there in this price range. But don't just take our word for it, look around and compare what you are buying for what price. Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description.

Condition: 
Front of Jacket:

Front cover is nicely presented due to a decent peeling job which is rare to find on these particular jackets. The good news is that this colorful and respectable #6 Butcher Cover won't cost you $1200 or more even at the Buy It Now price. As you can see from the photos, nothing from the peeling process (glue residue, minute edge abrasions from a prior owner on top left and right edges, etc) detracts greatly from the awesome presentation of this jacket. This is unusual from what is generally offered on these specific jackets.Take a look and judge for yourself. (See photos of the front and edges)

Seams: 
Top seam is mostly intact but does show some paper balding, etc (see top seam photo). The bottom seam appears the same with a light seam crack about an inch towards the very end of the bottom seam near the mouth opening.  also have split sections/wear to the seam paper of several inches throughout. Seams have been neatly closed in the areas that show cracking. (See bottom seam photo). To protect what remains of the seams, a record should never be attempted to be forced into this jacket. 
 Spine: 
Spine paper/printing was mostly wiped out on this one but some print remains. Again the spine, like the seams, appears to have been neatly mitigated with adhesive so that the condition would stabilize and not spread any further. (See Spine photo).
Back Of Jacket:  
The back of the jacket shows general moderate wear/foxing/soiling with some red ink writing on the corners and some more pronounced age spots in the bottom left hand corner (see photo of back of jacket). 
Trunk Slick: 
Removed Trunk Slick is NOT INCLUDED in this auction.
Record/Inner Sleeve: 
Comes complete with West Coast mono pressing in Poor to Fair visual condition (writing on one side of label) but has not been play graded. 1966 Goldenrod Inner sleeve included with some splits tears and a name written on both sides in black marker.

Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
