This handsome and rare LP from Club National du Disque (CND 48, French pressing, blue/silver label, mono) features the enigmatic pianist Alexander Sellier in a mixed recital entitled "Les Grades Classiques Allemands", which won the Grand Prix international de Munich". The program is as follows:
J.S. Bach: French Suite No. 6 in E Major
Haydn: Sonata in D Major Hob. XVI 37
Beethoven: 3 Bagatelles from Op. 119 (in C Major, A minor, C minor)
Weber: Perpetuum mobile, from the Piano Sonata No. 1
Mozart: Piano Sonata No. 11 in A Major K. 331
Schumann: Aufschwung and Warum, from the Fantasiestücke Op. 12
Brahms: Rhapsodie Op. 70 No. 2 in G Minor
This recital was recorded at the "Saalbau" de Saarlouis and the rear of the jacket carries a brief tribute to Sellier from Walter Gieseking.
CONDITION – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD-. There is corner wear, edge wear, creasing, ring wear (to the rear panel) and the beginnings of a very discreet 1" split on the spine. However, the jacket remains solid, bright and attractive – still a decent collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is VERY GOOD. There are a few scattered tics and some light surface noise, but nothing that would seriously impede listening pleasure. However, if you must have NM surfaces, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as a very good collector's copy.
PLEASE NOTE:
All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve. The images I've provided are of the actual item you are potentially bidding on - these are not stock images or images I've taken from other sites. Bid with confidence!
