SXL 6387 WB issue only for1 year 1W/2W HEAR RARE Brahms Starker Katchen Trios

SOUND SAMPLE AUTO STARTED WHEN YOU OPENED THE PAGE,TURN UP THE VOLUME and have a READ .

This record belonged to a personal friend, more to come over the next couple of weeks.

ALSO check out my friend's compositions  and his playing thereof, for  Solo Piano, in my other fixed price listing for his limited pressing CD "Reflections" (500 made only) sound sample embedded in that listing.

Now Back to this LP....

The reason the wide band LABEL is so scarce of this pressing is that within a few months of release of this recording, (1969), Decca switched to the Narrow Band label for all new releases and subsequent re issues. It is my unconfirmed suspicion that this meant there was only 1 or two pressing runs done before the labels were changed.  The same goes for probably Most of the SXL around the 6400 numbers issued around 1969 as this one was, or later wide bands pressed in early 1970 as new editions, there probably aren't many of the WB around as within the year the reissues were narrow band. Astute investors should stock up on the others while they can be found cheaply!!!

Sound Sample is of  about 3 minutes, of each side with a 20 second gap so I can flip the disc. (slight 1mm warp near edges of disc, no replay effect just a gentle rise and fall of the headshell on replay of 1mm maximum)

NO VISIBLE MARKS ON THE RECORD, there are a ONLY A few very faint or  fine paper scuffs, in bright sunlight only, nothing able to show in close up photo's, but this record has no effect from any small marks that are SUNLIGHT visible, all plays as same quality as this sample , As you can hear,  very clean, the rest plays no worse than this.

This sound sample at a low resolution (192kbps) and full tone especially on computer speakers will not show, this is only to give an idea of how clean this record is, and even then there are some static crackles that you can hear due to the treble bias of the sample, that DO NOT sound on MY sound system.

Yes I have FULLY test played all of this , and it has been washed.  Indications are this may have very rarely been played, only one light rotational spindle trail I can see.

Summary rating DISC VG++ downgraded due to that 1mm headshell float due to the warp, cover NM- Odd rating I know, (a Near mint minus) but its just a couple of thumb creases in cover, NO ringwear in the unlaminated  rear card,   see details below for Stamper numbers proving this is pressed from a very early stamper.

ITEMS are located in AUSTRALIA, see further down for Australia Post Rates to your destination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Australian buyers can pay in AUD,

UK Buyers BE AWARE !! Post limit of 7GBP as stipulated by ebay, (even for overseas sellers) GOOD NEWS!! unlike other sellers I will only charge the 7GBP to Post it to you BUT BAD NEWS..... It will arrive via the same method as if it was posted in UK, by SURFACE MAIL, and as that involves a slow ship via China and other indirect world zones it may take upto 3 MONTHS  to get to you. There is an option on your UK invoice for Economy mail, which will be by Air Mail and therefore the regular 10-15 days, SO UNLESS you want to get it VERY SLOWLY.... I would strongly recommend paying the optional invoice amount of GBP12.50

WAX CODES 1st edition is this wide band Label,  and changed to the narrow band label within a year, that is why you won't find many historical sales of this issue in the standard auction histories, although there is 2 for buy it now on on ebay which you can  go and grab if you prefer not to wait until auction finish....... its just a little bit dearer than this one...... Go On !! go and find it to see how much they want ....... They probably know like I do, how rare this little beauty is.

This is a UK  pressed copy of the rare DECCA SXL 6387 LP,

If you can get a cleaner sounding UK copy, for this money, I suggest you go buy it. Plays very cleanly, only the faintest of vinyl noise in this with normal RARE occasional tics,  but not distracting. There is no loud music to mask any vinyl damage noise.
so here's a good way to get the music on a record that  besides some random soft static like pops in quiet passages , has only paper scuffs in bright light . Both sides OCCASIONAL pops and tics especially in quiet passages nothing repetetive more than 2 quiet pips anywhere.

Rarely ever seen in Australia (THIS IS  THE ONLY ONE I HAVE  EVER SEEN, out of tens of thousands OF RECORDS INSPECTED!!!!!)

LP test played before any cleaning it was so clean, Except for the VERY FEW QUIET PIPS as mentioned .The full recording has to be heard, so if you haven't already heard IT , vote now........

International Buyers – Please Note:

    • Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.

    • Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

In other words I will not discount any stated sale price on Customs declarations as that is illegal.

No Reserve auction

TO BE PROPERLY INSURED, I WILL NOT UNDER DECLARE THE SALE PRICE OF THE ITEM,

I CAN ONLY INSURE BASED ON THE CUSTOMS DECLARATION STATED VALUE, PLEASE BE AWARE SHOULD YOU BE LIABLE FOR ANY CUSTOMS ON A SECOND HAND LP IN YOUR COUNTRY, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT PAYMENT (UK, Sth Korea, Germany and possibly Malaysia at least, probably more, has this problem I believe, )

In other words, buyers asking me to understate the customs declaration on this item need not bid, as I flatly refuse under international law to do so.  (Last Buyer who did that gave neg feedback (it was retracted obviously) as they thought it was my fault they had taxes to pay(?????)

RULES FOR BIDDING

DOES ANYBODY READ THIS?? I THINK NOT BASED ON RECENT BIDDING ACTIVITY ON MY ITEMS!! PLEASE READ...

If you have hidden feedback, or

less than 98% positive, or

less than 50 recent visible positives, (that's NEW EBAY registrations with little activity yet, that have proven your good buying habits)  THEN -

I would appreciate email contact first to establish your credentials.  Credentials mean that I need to know you will be paying with VERIFIED PAYPAL account, and I of course will only be mailing to that verified address. DON'T EXPECT TO GET MY PERMISSION IN THE LAST 2 HOURS OF BIDDING, DO IT BEFOREHAND. (Buyers who have had trouble free transactions with me already qualify of course, regardless of the feedback status)

Winning bids unpaid after 7 days will be reported as non paying bidder and item opened to second chance offer.

HAPPY BIDDING, QUESTIONS WELCOME

IF insurance is required on any Missionselit purchases please be aware I CAN ONLY INSURE BASED ON THE CUSTOMS DECLARATION STATED VALUE, PLEASE BE AWARE SHOULD YOU BE LIABLE FOR ANY CUSTOMS ON A SECOND HAND LP IN YOUR COUNTRY, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT PAYMENT (UK, Sth Korea, Germanyand possibly Malaysia has this problem I believe). The need for me to cover  insurance for any loss in the postal service means  I will  not under any circumstances  understate the customs declaration value, for the above reasons.
