Description
Rare 1976 Australian hard/progressive rock Lp by short lived Southern Cross. On this self ttled record, the band features Bruce Cumming (guitars), Jeff Beacham (drums), Michel Brouet (bass/vocals) and Alan Milano (lead vocals). On the stellar Laser label - home to a host of progressive and hard rock bands in Australia the mid to late 70s such as U-Turn, many of which were heavily influenced by AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, The Coloured Balls and a host of other more obscure acts. Southern Cross became one such act, their name indicative of bands of the time regarding themselves as having found an identifiable Australian sound where oroiginal songwriting became a measure of a band - most regard AC/DC to be the foremost exponent of this ethos.
Issued on the Laser label (CAT # VXL 1-4041) - Vinyl is Near Mint (looks unplayed), Cover is EX - light ringwear on back (laminated front holds well after 33 years with smallest of laminate bubble!). - Nice rare antipodean hard rock collectible.
