REX BROWN COMPANY & WERSI ELECTRIC STRING ORCHESTRA
ACTION & TENSION & SPACE
SELECTED SOUND 9053

No. 53 in the cult series of 'Radio Television Film Advertising Backgrounds' and this one is killer! Very stylish mood music with breaks and beats galore. There is a space age funk and psychedelic jazz ambience a la Peter Thomas Orion 2000 but The Rex Brown Company is leaner and meaner (more stripped down and less orchestral). That said, Berry Lipman is also involved so expect a mix of big and sparse soundscapes, in general. Features several fantastic themes like "Act Of Threat" / "Drive Out II (cinematic bossa with synth strings) / "Hot Track" / "Action Passing 5/4" / "Super Blocking" / "Highway Patrol" / "Death Rays III & IV" / "Galaxy Love" / "Space Waltz " / "Formation" / "Workshop Suspense" and more. Futuristic electronics / wah wah and fuzz guitar / funky drums and basslines / hip hop beats / clavinet - fender rhodes - harpsichord / groovy and aggressive drama cues with exotic and experimental touches. One of the best Selected Sound. As good as Gary Pacific Blue Butterfly / Klaus Weiss / Roland Kovac et al. Great for DJs! Disc cut loud with big production sound. Striking sleeve with metallic copper gleam :)
RECORD - shiny, strong VG++ (one side closer to M-) / some faint hairlines and faint light scuffs / disc cut loud with big production sound / natural light background noises / a few soft ticks in places
SLEEVE - original laminated sleeve is closer to M- overall with light wear / sharp looking / some ring creasing and ring dirt marks / a touch of corner wear in places / a couple of tiny nicks or dents or creases to the laminate / distribution sticker and ink stamp to front sleeve (easily removable)
LABEL - bright looking / minimal wear
After a 2 year gap, Pourquoi Moi Vintage is back :)
