We all may have wondered when we might hear something from Lou Reed's extensive archive of unreleased works. Now Laurie Anderson has partnered with Light In The Attic to begin the Lou Reed Archive series with this remarkable offering - a collection of raw demos recorded by Reed with his Velvet Underground bandmate John Cale. Amongst the tracks included are stripped back versions of 'I'm Waiting For The Man', 'Pale Blue Eyes' and 'Heroin' which are surely the earliest known takes of these eternally cherished songs. Remastered with care and released in tandem with the New York Library's exhibition of his works, this is a stunning, intimate document of one of the world's greatest songwriters. For the dedicated collectors, this deluxe edition comes with a bonus 7" and a 28-page book in a die-cut sleeve.
