Led Zeppelin : In Through The Out Door A5/B5
This first pressing plays with stunning quality on both sides with no interference at all. There are no clicks or pops and no static either and the clarity and definition of the audio cannot be faulted. In my opinion this has only been played once, perhaps twice at most as there is no spindle wear and the sonic quality is outstanding.
Everything about this album is in superb condition. The cover is practically 'as new' and the 'brown paper bag' has been so well preserved down the years. The card inner has no side splits and is also in great condition. This is one of the 'A' covers by the way and has clearly hardly ever been handled.
As this is a first pressing it has the A5/B5 matrix and 'Manufactured in the UK' on the labels.

Visual grading
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has a very strong glossy sheen. There are no scratches and only a small number of very faint sleeve removal hairlines, they are not easy to find! There is a little mottling on each side but it is faint and has no affect on the stunning audio quality. The run out grooves are very clean and the labels have no marking and no spindle wear.
Play grading
The quiet intro on 'In The Evening' is practically 'as new' with a clarity that is so impressive. There are no ticks or clicks and as the tracks 'gets going' the playback is exactly that - 'as new'. The clarity and power of the audio is outstanding and it continues in the same precise way with no intrusion. The quieter instrumental section 3/4 of the way through plays perfectly and the final section is also faultless. I will grade as Mint- although, as I often say, I'm not sure the minus is necessary!
'South Bound Saurez' then plays with wonderful depth and precision and ...no interference. This is a stunning rendition and has a sonic quality that is equal to that of an un-played record. This is Mint in every sense of the word. Wow!
'Fool In The Rain' provides further evidence of a vinyl so well preserved down the decades. The clarity and definition of the audio is exceptional and from start to finish there is no 'background' at all. The percussive mid section is so strong and 'as new' again sums it up. The remainder is of the same 'high end' standard and this is another Mint track I am pleased to say.
The quiet countdown into 'Hot Dog' can easily be heard and it then plays as per the other tracks. There is no inner groove distortion which is rare for a final track and especially one as 'up tempo' as this. A stunning Mint finish to the side.

The intro on 'Carouselambra' plays with perfect precision and thereafter plays with remarkable depth and power. It may not be typical Led Zepp but no band can 'stay the same' and I actually think this album is underrated. The entire 10 minutes play with outstanding quality and having listened to every second I can safely say there is no intrusion on the audio whatsoever. Has this record ever been played?! The playback is phenomenal! There are only a small number of very light ticks during the 'quieter' mid section interludes but this hardly qualifies as interference and the remainder plays with great precision and again the clarity is amazing! On such a clean record the audio definition really stands out - this is an exceptional version and Mint- is more than deserved in my educated opinion.
'All My Love' is stunning from start to finish with no interference once more. The sonic quality is rarely as good as this and there is just nothing that intrudes on the quality of the listen. I detected only a couple of minor background ticks and this is without doubt a Mint- version.
The quiet intro on 'I'm Gonna Crawl' is nigh on perfect with only a couple of dust ticks and then plays with great clarity and depth for the remainder. There is no distortion and the more 'powerful' moments play with great distinction. A handful of dust ticks at most, there are no clicks or pops and no static/crackle either. It is a stunning Mint- end to this hardly played album.
In summary...it doesn't get any better than this! This is a FINAL UPGRADE album as you could not find a first press playing with such incredible quality...in my opinion! The clarity, depth and warmth on show here is second to none and as stated there are no clicks or pops, no static etc and no distortion either. With a superb cover, bag and inner this is one very impressive first pressing!
The Cover, Outer 'Bag' & Picture Inner
The 'A' cover is in superb condition with no real wear. The edges and wide spine have no rubbing and there is barely any corner wear either. The opening edge is pristine also. The front cover is unmarked and has only a very small number of creases around the edges that you always see. The reverse side is just as good and I genuinely cannot find any faults! panel. A stunning example.
The 'brown paper bag' has no side splits or tears, no marking and barely any creasing. It just has a very faint wavy look but is very minor and hardly worth mentioning.
The thick card inner is also in fabulous condition with only a couple of very small faint marks. It is near perfect and has not been 'coloured' in.
Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable // B & W 684 Speakers
