Made In Heaven A2/B2 UK 1st Press Cream Vinyl LP (Limited Edition)

This original 1991 cream/white coloured vinyl plays with stunning quality overall and comes complete with a super clean gatefold and lyric inner and the three posters that are like new.  The previous owner assured me it had only been played once in order to tape it.

Visual grading

As stated this vinyl has only been played once before prior to my play testing.  This I do not doubt as it super clean with no hairlines, marks or scratches and there is only one tiny spindle trail on one label.  It really is a beautiful looking example of this now 23 year old record and still retains a strong glossy sheen.

Play grading  

As any Queen collector knows 'It's A Beautiful Day' always has some static/crackle on the intro of these first pressings.  I am pleased to say there is very little here and it can only be regarded as light static.  There are certainly no clicks or pops.  Once the vocal begins there is barely any 'background' and the clarity is first class.  This continues to the end with just the odd barely audible dust tick.  The title track 'Made In Heaven' then has audio that can only be graded as Mint- it is absolutely breathtaking.  It is obvious that this vinyl has hardly ever seen a turntable and only the fade out has a minor hint of static literally at the end.  'Let Me Live' has only a couple of mega light static sounds on the intro that you only hear if your ears are up close to the speakers!  It proceeds to play with impeccable quality and is yet another sublime version.  The classic 'Mother Love' plays almost 'as new' with wonderful clarity and warmth.  There are a handful of non-intrusive dust ticks that again are so quiet and barely worth a mention.  This is without doubt a 'high end' version and one that would be difficult to improve upon.  'My Life Has Been Saved' ends S1 with total clarity and again no interference.

'I Was Born To Love You' on S2 has hardly any static on the intro and then plays with exceptional quality for the remainder i.e. no interference of any kind.  'Heaven For Everyone' again grades as Mint the clarity and depth is of the highest calibre possible.  The emotive 'Too Much Love Will Kill You' plays with supreme clarity once more.  There is only one click towards the end but it is in a louder section and thus buried in the music and non-intrusive.  Otherwise there is no interference which is very impressive for a track that has many quiet sections.  'You Don't Fool Me' plays nigh on perfectly although bizarrely there is a minor skip near the beginning and I can only assume this is a pressing fault as there is no scratch or mark.  The remainder plays without fault and is a superb listen.  'A Winter's Tale' begins with great clarity but after about 20 seconds there are a couple of clicks.  Again I think this is a pressing fault and this is a common issue with coloured vinyl.  They often do not play as well as standard vinyl.  That is the only interference to be heard on this track and the remainder plays with perfect precision.  'It's A Beautiful Day (reprise)' provides a suitably impressive finish to this LP with only a minor hint of crackle on the 'silent' fade out.

In summary this is certainly one of the cleanest versions I have heard in a long time.  Yes there are a couple of minor issues on S2 but I am sure this is down to the manufacture of the vinyl rather than anything else.  The gatefold is lovely condition overall and of course it comes complete with the lyric inner and three posters that are in Mint condition. 

The Gatefold

The cover is in excellent condition with only minor shelf wear.  The top edges have a little rubbing only and there is even less on the bottom edges.  The wide spine is superb with no wear at all and the corners have very little wear also.  There is just one corner crease that is more obvious on the back cover top left.  The opening edge has no handling wear at all.  Aside from that already mentioned the front and back covers and inside are in immaculate condition with no marking.  Included is the small advertising flyer and it remains in excellent condition with only one tiny tear.

This is in perfect order with no wear to be seen.  100% Mint!  The three posters are pristine and appear untouched.

They are in pristine condition with no marking or writing and as stated only one mega small spindle line.
