This is a very rare and one of the most obscure in my opinion UK MINIMAL SYNTH / NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL / INDIE POP / TWEE / PUNK compilation entitled POINTS OF DEPARTURE from 1984, this is the ORIGINAL pressing. ORIGINAL PRESSING IN NEAR MINT CONDITION AND A MUST !!!.
The album came on the private RAMBERT RECORDS which is also known for many obscure 7" PUNK / SYNTH / NWOBHM single releases, catalogue number NRT 252, and this album features many bands that never got to release any other products apart from the tracks on this compilation, and hence the only chance to get them will be this compilation, and believe me some of them are better then many of the single releases, or many other released singles, THESE TRACKS SHOULD BE COMPED on the MINIMAL SYNTH / NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL compilations. This copy comes with the DOUBLE SIDED INSERT but also comes with A UNIQUE HAND BILL FOR A 2 DAY FESTIVAL IN ESSEX IN 1984 FEATURING ALL THE BANDS ON THIS COMPILATION + OTHER HEADLINE BANDS SUCH AS: THE TRUTH / ROY HARPER / JOOLZ and JAKE BURNS BIG WHEEL !!! A UNIQUE ONE OFF ITEM !!!

AVALON - I KNOW YOU'RE THERE- AMAZING NWOBHM sound, this band also released a VERY RARE NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL single.
LEGACY - LOOKIN' - Great INDIE POP C86 TWEE sound with horns like Friday Club.
RARE PLEASURES - THE ALTERNATIVE - Amazing MINIMAL SYNTH sound, like TRANSPARENT ILLUSION !!!
SIDE TWO:
SABOTEUR - HEAR WHAT THEY SAY - Synth Pop sound.
THE SWEAT BAND - I'M ALIVE - Another amazing NWOBHM sound, loud guitars, guitar solo, and screaming vocals all the way.
BEAU MONDE - BURNING CITIES - Dark Wave sound with Synth like Joy Division.
TRIDENT - FOLLOW ME FOLLOW YOURS- Post Punk DIY sound like Raincoats.
THE PORTRAITS - FRAMED - DIY PUNK sound like TV Personalities.
The compilation came out on the private RAMBERT RECORDS catalogue number NRT 252.
The album also comes with a great double sided insert with band's photos / line up, and contact information.
This album also comes in as NEAR MINT condition, and the VINYL is MINT- (Only one spindle mark on one side, NO SPINDLE ON THE OTHER), PICTURE SLEEVE is EX+/EX++, the DOUBLE SIDED INSERT is in EX++ condition, THE UNIQUE HANDBILL is in VG+ condition (slightly crumpled).
