FANTASTIC AND hugely influential Afro Caribbean band who formed in London during the early seventies and dived head first into the booming progressive rock scene by applying complex African rhythms to extended prog jamming. They also had the smarts to employ killer producer Tony Visconti who made damn sure that the tracks were neither boring or too ethnic. The results are an amazing blend of full-on heavy prog with lashings of Hammond Organ and long blasts of lead guitar atop hypnotic grooves and far-out jams. Actually a couple of years later guitarist Wendell Richardson went on to replace Paul Kossoff in Free.
Aided and abetted by one of Roger Deans greatest album sleeves adding fuel to the progressive rock fire.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
Pressing: MCA, UK, 1971- Orig plum and orange label
Vinyl: Beautiful clean and shiny condition. A couple of lone spindle marks on labels but virtually no other signs of use. Grades as shop fresh MINT-!
Cover: Again virtually no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed (by Roger Dean) gate-fold cover - retains full printers bloom. Sharp corners - no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Displays just a hint of storage wear and an original virtually invisible record shop sticker on from bottom left (The Turntable Hammersmith). Spine is stiff, square and practically uncrushed. Impossible to find like this after 48 years. Grades as a very nice Ex+
