Original 1st pressing and only pressing of this INA-GRM rarity. Never re-released on any medium, so exclusive material to this vinyl release!! This record is part of the great INA-GRM musique concrete series of experimental music that issued legendary recordings by Gilbert Amy, Luc Ferrari, Michel Chion, Francois Bayle, Jacques Lejeune, Bernard Parmegiani, Ivo Malec, Pierre Henry, Jacques Lejeune, etc. Furthermore, this is maybe one of the hardest titles of the series, nearly never turns up for sale!! Have a look at my other auctions for more musique concrete / electronic stuff!!

This was the very first record for french electronic composer Michel Redolfi. Have followed a vinyl on Hat Hut and several CDs on labels like Hat Hut, INA-GRM, Mirage Musical, Disques Ades, Centre International de Recherche Musicale(CIRM), Signature / Radio France plus various appearences on compilations. Redolfi was admired from american composer Jon Appleton, after Redolfi undertook his famous deep sea experiments in the pacific ocean, passing several months in California in a swimsuit setting speakers and electronic devices in the depths of the sea and recording all results. This was the project that got Redolfi wide recognition in the Usa and abroad. "Pacific Tubular Waves" was awarded with the Luigi Russolo prize in 1979. The pre-recorded material to be played under the sea was prepared on Synclavier, while are used in this album electro-acoustic, tape music and musique concrete methods. Comes with the original 3D glasses inside the special pocket of the gatefold cover. A really highly recommended album!!

Michel Redolfi was a pioneer of musique concrete & experimental music following the steps of Pierre Schaeffer, Andre Almuro, Stockhausen and Xenakis, Christian Clozier, Paul Boisselet and Bruno Menny, John Cage, Edgardo Canton, La Monte Young and of course Charlemagne Palestine.

Excellent- condition for cover with some light overall wear and beggining of split on top, while vinyl looks vg++, but plays better than that on most passages!! Just impossible to find such a copy nowdays after all these years...Should appeal to those into Henri Chopin, Marcel Duchamp, jean Dubuffet and Jean-Claude Eloy, Bernard Heidsieck, Ghedalia Tazartes, Costin Miereanu, Les Structures Sonores Lasry Baschet, Nurse with wound and similar.
