The fantastic voice of Maija Hapuoja has inspired me ever since we started collaborating in the early 70´s . in contrast to our previous recordings , the songs on this album has no lyrics .
They are instrumental . I wanted to do justice to the unique instrumental quality of Maija´s voice. Let it ring like a flute lyrically , and hauntingly or soar into heights like the northern lights .
And she does it . Wonderfully . Her voice blends with other instruments , doubles , triples , suddenly becomes a chorus , changing color constantly .
Here it is , in it´s beauty and flexibility , the incredible voice of Maija Hapuoja .
