An original 1st press of IV on UK Red & Plum. Matrix A3/B4. Red & plum labels were only around for a couple of months before a wholesale re-design by Atlantic. There are various versions of this Red & Plum label - this is Not the 1st iteration by any means. But it does come from the period of release and early enough to still hold the MOUNTAIN TOP error. This track should read 'Hop'! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. We also have the original textured inner with 4 credits and external flips. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. We will ship in an original Atlantic inner from Autumn 1971 [date coded 10-71] - which it is quite likely to have resided in since it was 1st purchased.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a coupe of trace marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome.  A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. The audio is fantastic and will wow you with resolution and energy. Many of these copies, however, have often been played to excess and the acoustic tracks suffer. Thankfully, this copy has only seen light careful use and is delivering a clean signal. All I could detect was one single isolated minor tick in the opening seconds of Evermore. And then just the occasional minor static crackle [very low in the mix] on the super lowkey run into Stairway [Which otherwise plays much cleaner than you typically find]. Finishing on the titanic 'Levee' - love it. Very few genuine 1st pressings can manage a rendition like this due to the popularity of this title. A sterling performer throughout. 
Cover (Vg+) Good to see Zep IV original surfaces looking clean and unaged. I can only make out one thumbnail front and rear. The interior looks good - no issues. Firm opening and solid opening panel. A bit of edge wear in places - no wear-through though. The spine is about average with some light wear [nothing major]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A very fine early specimen.
Inner (Ex) Not sure I've seen one like this before. Surfaces are total unworn. Flipbacks are totally intact. No splits! There's not even any edge wear. I would argue this is highly unusual.
