In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Exceedingly rare Original 1969 first pressing of what has become something of a top favorite Lp here ::::
Ray Brown & Moonstone were hatched from the famous Australian beat/garage group Ray Brown & The Whispers who made a few Australian only '65-67 LP's essential to beat/garage fans...but...then, what happened? Ray brown grew his hair long, must have gobbled some halluinogenic magic mushrooms and found psychedelic nirvana...1969 "MADHOUSE" is like nothing before - or - after, but for those into USA styled prime underground rock, you may find sommething like "MU" meeting "Merrell Fankouser & HMS Bounty" and beyond...advise would be to not miss ... unfortunately the Lp is mega rare and NEVER been reissued on Lp or CD...
SO...here's double thumbs up to RAY BROWN...another ‘60s musician who reinvented himself for the new decade of 1970. Ray Brown’s album Mad House is one of the down-right weirdest albums of the day, an eclectic mix of psych, folk, Eastern influences and a wacked out rural tune that we find to be among the best (ever) of the genre...

After having a popular career as a teen beat-rock star Ray Brown took off for the '67 highs of the West Coast hippie scene and "hung out" - having returned to Australia in late 1969 with a load of experience in the USA underground rock scene under his belt he formed a new group (MOONSTONE) and created an LP reflecting on his days on the West Coast. Moonstone included Mal Clarke (Tony Worsley & The Fabulous Blue Jays) and Jimmy Doyle (ex Aesop's Fables) on guitar. They managed to release the way-out (highly-regarded) album "Mad House" (October 1969 on Festival records) recorded with a session band including bassist Ed Gaston and drummer Jimmy Thompson (ex-Billy Thorpe's Aztecs). The record is now very collectible, and is described as an esoteric blending of psychedelia and Eastern, rural & folkrock influences..."
MAD HOUSE became yet another hideously rare and unreissued gem. And yes, you'll find the Lp "loaded" with "heavy" psychedelic influences splashed all over their one-off hash pipe head melter! The Eastern sitar psych tracks might as well suck you in from the start, featuring "Story of Ali", an exotic sitar bellydancing psych spoken word tune that graced the Electric Sitar Headswirlers 1 compilation, and "Start of a New Day", a killer sitar/tablas raga psych track with Eastern feel and super catchy melody, which turned up on Electric Sitar Headswirlers 3. Perhaps the albums highlight is a drifting acid-tinged monster "Carry Me Back To L.A." about as good as you get when talking vintage psychedelic nuggets. Jeez, those guys sure knew a good thing when they heard it. Some other cool sitar tracks have yet to be comped, like the groovy "Mr. Blue", which combines Ray's sitar raga psychedelia with Moonstone's rural rock Byrds - Grateful Dead style. By the time you get to the mighty "King Velvet" you may end up on the floor or at least partially dazed...
And that's just a surface overview of a DEEP album with what we found to contain plenty of rewards...
Again, it's rare as hens teeth. This one's in decent shape -- like the few copies that have turned up in the past, the vinyl plays with some noise, grades VG to VG+ check out the details below...

CONDITION:
The cover: The fragile (laminated) cover is in sharp shape, rated: "EX" (excellent) with only small signs of previous use (hey, it's 46 years old!) ...still reflects fresh original colors, no delete marks, no split seams, and no writing ... HIGHLY collection worthy ...
The vinyl: lots of shine on both sides, side one has various (light) hair scuffs, and like ALL copies contains ticks here or there. Even our prized copy isn't much better. Side two looks better (overall rating: VG to VG+ even though a lot plays excellent) ... both Australian Festival labels are clean
