Description
I am a Led Zeppelin nut and collector but I need to downsize my records, so I will be selling some great sounding copies of early Led Zeppelin. This is a first press, Robert Ludwig mastered copy that has outstanding sound quality. I will grade the LP itself as Ex+ to NM. Let me explain the condition in deeper detail, as just a simple NM or EX or VG+ is not sufficient. There is a long, thin mark on side one that extends across all the tracks. It is not a scratch or a scuff, it doesn't penetrate into the grooves at all, and does not affect the audio in any way. There is also a very thin hairline mark about 1" long on the last track of side 2. It does not penetrate the vinyl, it does not affect the audio. Other than that the vinyl is very clean and NM on both sides. In grading the audio, there is one light tick at the very start of the first track (Whole Lotta Love) on side 1, after that the entire side plays NM. Side 2 plays NM across the entire side. Also the vinyl is very quiet, the background noise is very low, even on the dead wax between tracks, and that is hard to find on a lot of these RL copies. If the audio quality matters to you more than the visual condition, this copy is for you. I am going to rate the outer sleeve as VG+, it has a 1/2" split in one bottom corner, other than that it is a very solid outer sleeve, and it does have some of the usual loss of the brown color in spots on the spine and bottom and top edges. For the inner sleeve it has a split on all three sides, I will rate it as Good +. In terms of the identification, the labels show ST-A-691671-SP on both sides, and in the dead wax on side 1 the stampers show "ST-A-691671-A0" with "RL" and "LW", on side 2 they show "ST-A-691671-B0" with "RL SS" and "LW". The 0 at the end of the A and B stampers is super light, not deeply etched like the rest of the characters in the stampers. I will only ship to the U.S. No reserve just a very reasonable starting bid.
