Offered is the ORIGINAL Vinyl 33 and 1/3 RPM
12 inch record released in 1976 by,
THIN LIZZY
Titled:
Jailbreak
On
Columbia Records# SRM-1-1081. Stereo.
This is a very rare test pressing, and only a few are in existence.
Test pressings are some of the most desirable LP's in the world, as they were pressed in very limited quantities (usually less then 50) They have the first master sound quality directly from the mother stamper, and sometimes will only be distributed to the most famous DJ's by Record Company Sales Executives to promote the LP.
This is an advance release, given to Mercury Company executives for the purpose of audio sound quality, and distribution to promote the LP. This test pressing was pressed by the Columbia Records Terre Haute, Indiana plant.
The deadwax has a STAMPED MATRIX of SRM-1-1081, Masterdisk.
This test pressing is from the collection of a former WPLR radio station disc jockey, located in New Haven, Connecticut and was released as an advance to promote Thin Lizzy in a major hard rock/album rock market. This was released prior to the LP jacket being printed, and mass distributed by the record label. This is a historic RNR recording, as opposed to just being a collectable, as only a few UK test pressings have surfaced for sale, but no US test pressings to my knowledge.
The 45 single "The Boy's Are Back In Town" reached #8 on the US Charts.
