LED ZEPPELIN "4" 1971 U.S. Atlantic LP w/2 stickers on cover- black rectangular song title sticker & orange round promo sticker, gatefold original of the 4th album by the heavy metal supergroup from 1971 w/"Stairway To Heaven" lyric inner sleeve. SD 7208 M-/M.
This 4th album usually gets the nod as Led Zeppelin's best primarily due to "Stairway To Heaven"- the indisputable rock classic. But this untitled LP (only identified with a "rune" symbol for each band member), contains other notable songs as well- "Black Dog", "Rock And Roll", "The Battle Of Evermore" (with vocals shared by Fairport Convention's Sandy Denny) & the pre-war blues classic "When The Levee Breaks" all being stand-outs. The 4 piece supergroup were all great musicians- Jimmy Page, guitarist extraordinaire, multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones handled the bass, synthesiizer, mellotron & piano, John Bonham on drums & the inimitable Robert Plant on lead vocals. They transcended the heavy metal classification blending elements of Progressive Rock, English Folk, Blues & 50s Rock & Roll into their music. Jimmy Page wrote most of the music while Robert Plant provided the lyrics. This classic LP has stood the test of time since 1971!

Gatefold cover is near MINT w/virtually no wear. Front cover has a 5"X2 1/2" black sticker with white lettering depicting the "runes", song titles & the Atlantic Records logo & address of 1841 Broadway in the upper left, the upper right has a 2" round orange sticker with black lettering stating "Promotional Copy Not For Sale" (small mark on this sticker above the lettering). 2 minute indentations on the back near the middle (from the rivet on the "Led Zeppelin III" cover) & slight wear on the bottom left corner prevent this from getting a MINT rating. Still a highly presentable copy. MINT record has no scratches or scuffs & plays perfectly. Label is stock green & orange w/address listed as 75 Rockefeller Plaza. Comes complete with the MINT inner "Stairway To Heaven" lyric sleeve. No UPC.
