KOOBAS

S/t

 1969 UK Columbia original press.

This is a totally underrated (at the time) album and is now sought after in its original form. This is the MONO first press and by the looks of the few spindle marks has only been played a few times. Formed in 1962 and originally known as The Kubas the band were signed by Brian Epstein and were featured in the film Ferry Across The Mersey. After leaving Pye they were signed by Columbia and released a number of great singles, but to little success. By the time of recording this Lp in 1968 the band were on the verge of splitting by persevered and produced this masterpiece which was released in 1969.The fuller Mono mix is well worth a listen. It was not promoted by the band and sold very little~~~but it is now a sought after album.

The vinyl is in very good shape and sounds fine with maybe just a little surface noise in places~~~rated a strong VG++(some might grade it Ex-)~~I don't think you will be disappointed.

The flipback sleeve has no ringwear but does have minor damage towards the bottom right~~1 cm seam / flipback tear + corner creasing~~see scan 4.  But overall not bad for nearly 40 years on and comes complete with company inner bag.

GRADING I grade records firstly visually and sample aurally for overall sound quality. Should you feel I have misgraded please remember that I offer a full NO QUIBBLE refund or agreed price reduction if I am off the mark.

NEAR MINT (NM)~~a top copy~audio listening and visual grading has not revealed any imperfections. Lp is guaranteed to sound superb and shows very little sign of playing.

NEAR EXCELLENT (EX or EX+)~~careful visual inspection audio sampling has not revealed any major imperfections such as clicks or skips~~the LP should sound superb and it will be hard to find a better copy. Sleeve and any inserts/inners are in excellent shape. You will not be disappointed.

VG+~~ audio listening has revealed some surface noise or the odd crackle. Visually the Lp may have light scuffs but nothing major though has obviously been played regularly. Sleeve might have light creases or ringwear. The Lp and sleeve will be fine until a better copy comes along.

Remember this is NOT a mint or excellent condition album.

STILL PERFECTLY PLAYABLE AND STILL AN ACCEPTABLE SOUND!!

VG~~not great and will have spindle wear, surface noise  and crackles but I will flag up this grading rarely. However, NO deep felt scratches and it should track OK on your deck. This will do till a better copy comes along but is probably worth it for rarity value.

PLEASE BID ACCORDINGLY.

Postage ~~orders over £25 will be sent registered in the UK and INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR or TRACKED  (where available) world wide. It costs a bit extra but I am sure you will agree it is worth it.
