Description
Blues, Rags & Hollers - "Spider" John Koerner, "Snaker" Dave Ray & Tony "Little Sun" Glover.
Rare translucent red vinyl first pressing on the regional Audiophile label from 1963. Reissued the following year by Electra Records minus four songs. Reportedly only 300 of this first pressing were made.
Sleeve - Good condition - sticker stain top edge of front, minor corner bumps, light staining/smudges to rear. Record - Fair condition - a handful of scratches and scuffs, chip out of outer edge Side 1 not extending into track. I was getting a skip halfway through Down to Louisiana on side one and Snaker's Here side 2. Otherwise plays ok with an acceptable amount of surface noise and occasional pop. Pretty typical condition for this pressing, these are tough to find in good condition if you can find a copy at all.
Highly regarded debut album by the Minneapolis trio. Bob Dylan wrote about Koerner as an early influence and mentor in his book Chronicles. John Lennon sent the group a fan letter after listening to this album.
