Both vinyl surfaces shine like new with just light hairlines visible under bright light
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT ('Moonchild' EXCELLENT)
Stunning audio reproduction throughout - deep, rich, warm, finely detailed and incredibly strong.
Side One begins with a little surface noise on the quiet intro to '21st Century Schizoid Man' (just a couple of seconds) but once the track steamrolls in the playback is flawless. 'I Talk To The Wind' is beautifully clean and 'Epitaph' is again, flawless.
'Moonchild' is very generally clean but of course has a little surface (+ a few soft 'ticks' and brief 'clicks') on the practically silent moments - but nothing unexpected or unacceptable - and nothing I found at all intrusive (and this side had possibly never been played before to my play-check). The title track itself has a few clicks on the final quiet section (no evidence for these on the vinyl surface at this point) but otherwise, plays without fault.
I actually played 'Moonchild' at a very, very loud volume to highlight any of these audible surface issues so when the thundering drums at the beginning of "In The Court Of The Crimson King" kicked in the effect was electrifying - the sound quality is simply stunning.
I always find this a tough record to give a general grading so I have graded 'Moonchild' separately
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+++
A very fine example - crisp and clean with just the smallest touch of storage rub to the bottom edge
INNER SLEEVE: NEAR MINT
Clean and unmarked - barely seen the light of day
