Description
This copy is in superb shape, vinyl glossy and shiny with just a few light marks that do not affect play. This is the original US 2002 press and includes 'Wichita Lineman' and 'Big Iron', these are not present on CD issue.
Inners are also in great shape, these are wafer thin and are notorious for being wrecked with all sides split. There are a few creases and a little bit of wear as would be expected. These inners have just 2 splits one on top of disc one and one on bottom of disc 2. The jacket has a few light creases and some minor edge wear. The spine is not damaged and is fully intact. I am a collector myself so very fussy on condition - my listings, especially for the rarer records are always described very conservatively.
The 4th LP in the "American Series" and the last album released during his lifetime. Produced by Rick Rubin and featuring primarily cover versions. This LP is incredible and incudes "Personal Jesus" and his haunting rendition of "Hurt". Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor admitted that he was initially flattered, but worried that "the idea of Cash covering 'Hurt' sounded a bit gimmicky," but when he heard the song and saw the video for the first time, Reznor said he was deeply moved and found Cash's cover beautiful and meaningful, going as far as to say "that song isn't mine anymore.".
