Description
This is a superb copy of A Night At Birdland with the Art Blakey Quintet, Blue Note 1522. A genuine first pressing with flat edges and Lexington addresses on both sides, ears, RVG, 9M. The NM cover is as nice as you will find, pretty much as new. The lamination is intact and glossy with no ring wear. A very slight and hard to see surface indentation above Blue Note near the bottom, and a very faint small area of rub to the gloss near the center, as shown in the photos. Corners are sharp with no bumps or creases, just a tiny hint of rub. The opening is pristine with no finger nail marks. No spilts or tears along the seams. The back cover is super clean with no writing or stains. Inner sleeve included.
The record is also gorgeous, obviously played very little in the last 63 years. No scratches, as new bright shiny gloss, no spindle marks on the pristine labels. There are some light wispy surface adhesion marks from being stored in the original inner sleeve for a long period of time that are visual from an angle, typical of records of this era, but with no impact at all on the sound quality. Actual play is literally NM+. Some light lead-in dead wax crackles, but once the music starts the sound is super clean, dead quiet and full bodied with no distractions. This comes from my personal collection, selling only because of my continuing hurricane recovery expenses. Bid with confidence, no disappointments here, hard to imagine ever finding a nicer copy.
