Description

JIMI HENDRIX

ARE YOU EXPERIENCED

(UK TRACK, 613 001, 197? [1967])

MEGA RARE PROMO STEREO UK TRACK PRESSING of Hendrix's legendary debut!! This particular pressing has been the source of debate for many years among collectors and at one point even achieved mythical status when people started advertising it as original 1967 stereo pressings and it started fetching crazy money!

Let's get one thing clear here - this pressing is NOT FROM 1967! The album was issued in mono only in the UK at the time. The first stereo pressing did not emerge until the Backtrack repressing (with a different sleeve) from 1970. This pressing is in fact from the mid to late 70s and is the only UK Track stereo pressing of this album on the black labels with the original sleeve!! It may have been issued for export use only which may explain Hendrix's name on the front (not on original UK pressings - but was on foreign pressings in 1967), but what I can tell you is that it is a DEFINITE UK PRESSING with the FIRST STEREO POLYDOR MATRIX STAMPERS!!

What makes this even more special is that it is in fact a PROMO!! All 70s UK Polydor promo pressings have a gold stamper on the sleeve (see 4th pic) stating 'Promotional Copy - Not For Resale' which adds even more confusion as to whether this was an export or not - surely if it was an export they would not have pressed promos? We will never know...

This is in beautiful shape too! I guarantee you will not find another in this condition for a long time so don't sleep! You will be not be disappointed! Don't miss out!

Vinyl is in EX+ condition : no visible marks, looks and sounds great, you will not be disappointed!

Sleeve is in EX condition : minimal wear on front and back, some light ring wear on bottom of front (see 2nd pic), light disc imprint, edges and spine are great, corners are sharp, great example!

Run-out grooves:

SIDE 1 - 2343 073 A//1 420 11 12 06 stamped

SIDE 2 - 2343 073 B//1 420 12 31 06 stamped

UPDATE!!

THIS IS NOT THE FAKE 90s COUNTERFEIT!!!!
I have just been asked if this is that particular fake and it is not!!
This particular pressing has been bootlegged but I have seen those
  • The counterfeits DO NOT HAVE the gold promo stamp on the back
  • The counterfeits DO NOT HAVE the ridged labels (like most UK Polydor pressings from the mid to late 70s)
  • The counterfeits DO NOT HAVE stamped matrix run outs - they are handwritten on the counterfeits!
This pressing DOES HAVE all of the above, and the matrix run outs are stamped just like all UK 70s Polydor pressings.
This really is the real deal - I have been collecting records for many years and would know a fake UK Polydor if I saw one!!
ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS - PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK!!
